Dining near Baltimore/Washington International Airport

Acqua Restaurant
The Acqua, is just outside of Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport, and is located in the adjacent Hilton Hotel, within the airport compound. One does not need to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy the fantastic food at this establishment. They have an extensive menu selection, and offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, so excellent cuisine can be had here at almost any hour of the day. The Acqua’s signature dish is their jumbo lump crab cakes, which are deliciously seasoned, and lightly glazed with a homemade Harissa sauce.

Green Turtle Sports Bar and Restaurant
About a mile from BWI, the Green Turtle is a locally owned franchise establishment the serves up casual American fare, in an upscale sports bar environment. This lively local hangout caters to sports fanatics, with TVs everywhere and flat screens in every booth. Depending on which events are showing that day, it is not uncommon to hear cheers and jeers erupt sporadically. The food is great, and they offer burgers, sandwiches and a host of typical pub appetizers.

Maiwand
Maiwand features Afghani cuisine, and is only a quarter mile from the BWI airport. This small eatery, is a great place to pick up a quick bite before or after a flight, and is geared towards quick paced service. Counter service is the method of ordering, paying, and receiving meals here, and the prices are very reasonable. Popular halal selections here are kabobs of lamb and beef, ethnic nibblers and dips, and a scintillating chai beverage.

Elkridge Furnace Inn
A mile and an half from the airport is the exquisitely appointed Furnace Inn, which offers fine dining in an elegant atmosphere. Linens, crystal, and a demure setting, give this establishment a classy feel. Their menu offers fresh seafood, local game dishes, and mouth-watering homemade desserts to top off your meal. The wine list is extensive, and if you are fortunate enough to stop by when they are featuring half off wines, you are in for a treat.

Passport Bistro Olive
This gem of a restaurant is in close proximity to the BWI airport facility, and has a vast selection of traditional home-style cuisine. Several indulgent appetizers don the menu, and they have a great selection of interesting and original wraps, sandwiches, and burgers. This place is excellent for pizza lovers, and is one of the areas best places to get a traditional pie. Passport Bistro uses hand-tossed dough, homemade sauce, and fresh ingredients in these masterpieces.
